Rain...rain...go away...

Hey Y'all!!

Oooooookay. So, this week.....was crazy...

First off, this is the last week before transfers, so everyone's running around like a chicken with their head cut off trying to get things done for the people leaving and the people arriving. Then there's the fact that this is the last week of September so everyone's trying to accomplish their goals by Sunday including scheduling and organizing Baptismal services throughout this weekend. And THEN this Sunday we're also having a musical fireside so everyone's trying to practice and get ready for that, and THEN this weekend is the Relief Society Broadcast so everyone's trying to coordinate things around the various RE-broadcast times since we're 4hrs ahead of Utah and most people are at work during the original broadcast. Sooo yeah, lots of crazy stuff.

BUT!! It's better than being bored, right?
So anyhoo, random facts:

1.) I've never had so many pictures taken of me in my LIFE! So, the Asian tourists are already taking a million pictures at the PCC, but add a companionship of 2 blonds and EVERYONE has to have a picture with us, and that doesn't even include the "sneaky" pictures they try to take when they think we aren't looking, HOLY COW! My first week we had this group of like 200 Japanese navy guys all dressed up in their white uniforms and everything and holy cow did they have a field day taking pictures with us! Then again, their tour guide was an RM from Japan and I don't know what he was saying but I'm 99.99% sure he was egging them on and was having a nice laugh at our faces as the guys try to put their arms around our shoulders and as they would get REAL close to our faces for the pictures.......awkward.......but yeah, TONS of pictures taken of me! And it's always during the part of the day when I'm hot, sweaty and totally gross! Epic Fail.....

2.) Arriving at an appointment COMPLETELY soaking wet...is awkward......because you're trying not to drip ALL over their house all the while, you're completely freezing and your clothes are stuck to you, and the only thing on your mind is, "are my scriptures ok?!" *shakes head* oooh man. Well I've decided I'm just gonna carry my umbrella with me everywhere from now on because seriously the rain here is bipolar. And having the people have to lay down a path of towels for us is SUPER embarrassing.....

3.) Food comes in a series....the 1st week we got here all we ate was meat and rice...then curry.....then it was stir fry....then meat loaf....and now Spaghetti.....sooooo muuuuch spaghetti!!! It's so crazy! It's like each week when it's a specific ward's turn to feed us the huddle up and all plan the same thing to feed us! Not that I'm complaining, it's good food, but it's so crazy how each week it's the same! Weird....however, MOM...let it be known here and now....I STILL HATE GREEN BEANS!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness, with every fiber of my being those things are FOUL! And for some reason that's everyone's favorite vegetable besides Salad..........bleh XP

But ANYHOOO...
OH! So remember when I said that we had an awesome service project planned with Mickey? Yeah, he did it all on his own! (I can't remember if I told y'all this or not) But when we walked past and waved to him one day that reminded him of the project and so he drove to town, got the stuff, came back and in broad daylight, went over to the family's house and built the clothes line for them! hahaha and he was TOTALLY got by their youngest who's like 7! hahahaha So picture a HUGE Polynesian guy going ,"shoot...." under his breath and looking down at this tiny kid going, "whatcha doin?" hahahahahahahahaha Anyhoo, he had a ton of fun doing the service project and we're so proud of him helping out!

Then on Tuesday we had all these plans to work our area from the back to front and then go back to the Visitors' Center but right when we were about to pass the 1st street I halted and was like, hey we should visit Brickwood first (the name of the house) and my comp was like, 'uuuuh, do you want to?" and I was like "yes" and started walking down the street, we said a quick prayer and then came up to the house and saw a guy sitting outside smoking, and so we got talking to him and it turns out he was actually on his way to work (so if we had worked our way from back to front, but the time we would have gotten to his house he would have been gone) but we taught him a brief summary of our church and told him that what we're here to do is invite people to come unto Christ and be baptized and he's like, "well, I'm Catholic, but I'm open." haha so we made a return appointment and we just saw him last night and it was AWESOME! He says he's been looking into a LOT of churches but over time he's seen how they've all become corrupted, and he says that if he found the TRUE church of Christ and KNEW it was true he would totally be baptized and forsake anything to make sure he's doing what Christ asks of him....um....yeah does this guy sound too good to be true or WHAT?! So we're hoping he can get off work so he can come to church with us on Sunday! He's SO COOL and we're STOKED to teach him!

Well I hope everyone's doing great I hope everyone's studying hard! PUT UP SOME HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!! And I do accept all Halloween packages filled with candy, thank you very much! hahahahaha LOVE Y'ALL!!!
