ALOHA!!!!
So, I totally promised myself that I would NOT say Aloha all the time when I go home because I think it's super weird since I'm not Hawaiian and I think it's weird when people who are not Hawaiian try to act Hawaiian.....however.....I do tram tours from the PCC to the Visitors' Center.....that means I say Aloha about 50 billion times a day and you have to say to all the locals and you say it to greet all the guests when they enter the VC...so....needless to say, I'm probably gonna go home tossing "alohas" left and right hahahahaha oh well :P
ANYHOO we had an AMAZING/super weird week. We totally ended our week with some of the coolest experiences over the weekend!. My favorite:
we were giving out 1st tram tour of the day on Saturday and when we were at the VC I noticed this guys meandering his way toward the family search center. So I sorta followed him and then asked how he was doing and how he was enjoying Hawaii and all that jazz and then he paused.....just stared at the family search screen for a second and then turns to me and says, "This is a holy place."..................my thoughts: "HECK YA IT IS!!!!!" my response: "you can feel the spirit here can't you?" *BAM!* Anyhoo so we talked for a bit and then I was like, "well, I can explain why you're feeling the spirit right now." he goes, "Tell me." And of course I did and I discussed with him all these things about the temple grounds and then he's all "you know, you're an EXCELLENT Ambassador for your church." FACT: I was beaming by now. Then I asked if he'd like missionaries to come over and he's like, "Yes I would" Not "ya," not "ummm...ok" not "umm, I guess so" No. "Yes, I would." BAM!!!! Seriously the best experience ever!!!!
The funny thing is, he was the 2nd out of 4 times now that I've been told things like "Wow, you are very good at what you do." "Well aren't you the little salesman, ok sure I'll have them over" "You're an EXCELLENT Ambassador for your church." "Hmmm, you are VERY persuasive."
Well my friends, I am HAPPY to say that my persuasive skills I've used since I was 2 are finally paying off and allowing me and my companion to reach our goal of so many Self Referrals a weeks ^_^
What's so crazy though is that later this week we just had weird/stressful things happen to us, like Sis. Christensen got a Pentecostal Basher on her tram and we had like 10 people TOTAL on our trams out of FOUR!!! And it was just insane, BUT I'm happy to say Sis Christensen handled the Basher like a pro and she even got a hug from the lady after the tour :) Got to love the spirit!
Anyhoo last little note for the day: GO TO THIS WEBSITE!!! https://www.lds.org/youth/video/2012-theme-song?lang=eng It was filmed in La'ie!!! This is my zone! And we see those kids ALL the time! They're in our wards!!! SO awesome!!!
Second: The VC has a facebook now! It's Hawaii Temple Visitors' Center. PLEASE go like it, our VC president has asked us to tell everyone we know to go like the page so we can get the word out to more people about the VC and about the different events held here like the Musical Firesides we have! Sooooo yeah!!!! Watch the video and like the fbook page! I love you guys and I hope school's going great! Work hard! Pray always!
Your favorite missionary,
Sister Bradley
