Fwd: Give Thanks...Pay Tithing

Hey y'all!

So we had SO many awesome miracles this week on chat but I want to talk about what happened on Sunday.

In the white handbook (for missionaries) it asks them (us) to pay fast offerings on the money they receive. And as far as I know, not many (at least in La'ie) do it because we're not sure how, where, what and then if your trainer doesn't teach you to do it, you just....don't do it.

BUT I've been repenting and I've begun paying my fast offerings and let me tell you the church is true! Now, every time I try and pay it it's always a really big hassle, because there won't be any tithing slips or envelopes, or the bishop-bric will be in a meeting or have left already or the lips don't match the ward, just all that crazy weirdness. But I pay it! And for the 2nd time this Sunday when I paid mine, and after it was a really big hassle...I ended up having 2 families offer to feed us! Which is a really big deal because as online sisters we're not assigned to a ward so we don't get fed. So it was a miracle! I loved it! I'm so grateful!

Now, granted, that doesn't mean EVERY time I pay my fast offerings I'll get free food. Sometimes the Lord let's us struggle. But the point is, I KNOW that was a small tender mercy from Heavenly Father letting me know He's looking out for me and taking care of me. I know that if I keep trusting Heavenly Father that no matter HOW tight money gets, if I pay my tithing and fast offerings FIRST, I will be blessed. I will carry through and somehow the money will last. Period. It's the Lord's promise.

Paying tithing is SO important. It's those tithes that supply the disaster relief in such places as teh Philippines right now. It's those tithes that supple the food, water, hygiene kits, schools and home repair and just so much for anyone (or any country) in need!

I hope you read it and really pray about this specific commandment from God. I know you will be blessed. And just think! This is probably the ONLY commandment where you know that you are doing it 100% right! Once you pay the 10% you're done! Bam! Finished! Commandment=KEPT! Check! How cool is that? I'm so grateful for such an easy commandment where I never have to second-guess if I'm doing it right. What a blessing.

Also, keep praying for missionary opportunities! We had a girl from Norway come on because a "friend" of hers in school is Mormon and he's going on a mission and she wanted to know more about what he believes. And I just went to a baptism on Saturday for this girl, who's best friend since 7th grade (and who she also has a major crush on and hopes to marry someday....her words) got to baptize her after 6 years of giving her Book of Mormons for "every holiday" (again, her words). It was SO cool! Don't give up! And work hard! Pray always! Love ya!

P.S. We had 2 of the most classic and funniest events happen in the same day here on Temple grounds...a baby stripping down and  jumping in the fountain (which I shall not show pictures of because it's probably inappropriate) and a proposal ^_^ I got better pictures on another sister's camera, but here's my companion's pictures
