FACT: Miracles make up for the bad days

FACT: We had 3 days this week that the website that we use to chat, was down. And not only could we then not proselyte, but we couldn't call out either. Meaning we couldn't call any of our investigators that we got from the Visitors' Center.....lame

BUT.........FACT: On the days the website WAS working we saw MANY miracles, including this one:

So on Mormon.org you can call a number to order a Book of Mormon and when you do, you get sisters like me. Well one guy named Dewey Garrick III called to ask questions about the Book of Mormon, (he's like in his 60's and living at a [physical rehab center in Kansas City) and it's weird because no one was online when he called so it went to MY voice mail (which is weird because it's not like I was online and there's HUNDREDS of people the voice mail could have gone to) and he left a message asking questions about 3rd Nephi and how he thought it was BEAUTIFUL. So I called him back and he told me he wanted to be baptized because he didn't want to be Catholic anymore and he really likes the Book of Mormon! So I got ahold of the missionaries (back in the day when I could call the missionaries directly) and I had them go over and teach him and they taught him for a little while and I called him ever so often, but then we had a disagreement on needing works to go to heaven and so the missionaries dropped him. But I called the Bishop (then the rule changed and I couldn't talk to the missionaries directly) and I told him to PLEASE not give up on him. And then a few weeks later his status was changed to "progressing investigator".

Well I didn't really talk to him after that because I didn't want to annoy him (because it's hard to catch him at the center) and the missionaries were teaching him so I let it go. THEN, on Thursday we're on chat and someone pops up to chat and it's totally DEWEY! He didn't remember me, but I didn't really expect him to, it was back in May/June. But he tells us, "well, I just wanted to let you know that I know that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young are modern day prophets and so are all of their successors."................O.

o!!!!!!!!...................so we reply with, "wow! That's great! How did you come to know that?" "Well, I read the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price and I now I want to be baptized and become a member of the church"..............O.o..........

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

HHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITING! And it's SO crazy how he popped up on MY chat! SO weird. So I called the Bishop and hopefully they'll get on it, because Dewey said he hadn't told his missionaries yet but that he really liked his elders. :) SO bomb! I love being a missionary, and I love being at the Visitors' Center and online! So many miracles!

Anyhoo......Now that I'm an online sister we don't have a ward that we're assigned to, so, no dinner calendar. So for the 1st time on my mission I finally broke out my recipe book my mom gave me before I left. Time to look up a good recipe on stuffed peppers and homemade Fettuccine Alfredo!

Fun fact: I actually bought my first pepper today....I've never bought a pepper before. And last week i bought green onions.....I've never bough green onions before either........I'm not really a vegetable person....but my mission is forcing me to be otherwise.....too much meat and rice would make ANY Haole girl crave vegetables......still hate green beans though...that's not gonna change.....
