Knowledge Is Power!

FREDERICK GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! Now if only the Elders would e-mail me the pictures! Seriously, they're probably as bad as William. Only, if I don't get them by next P-day, heads will roll! I was promised pictures from THREE different cameras!!!! -_-

But ayhoo, it's so bomb that he's now baptized! Only took several miracles and 30 yrs ;) I'm SO proud of him! Well he's now proof for everyone out there that you're never too old to have a change of heart! :D (he's over 70 yrs old)

Also, I learned the coolest thing last week from the scriptures!

So in Alma 12:9 it talks about about, you get what you work for, pretty much, saying that if you want to understand the doctrine you got to STUDY the doctrine, and if you DON'T then you'll never understand the mysteries of God, which is the definition of "chains of Hell."

SO...THAT finally made the connection with "Knowledge is power." Y'all have heard of that, yes? Yes? I really hope so. Anyhoo, SO, God is all powerful yes? Yes. And God is all knowledgeable, yes? Yes. And we, as the natural man, can not understand nor comprehend the extent of His power and knowledge except the things He manifests to us through the Holy Ghost. Yes? Yes. WELL, the reason why Heavenly Father is always telling us to go to church, to read the scriptures and to pray is because through those things, the Holy Ghost can manifest to us truth, it can provide us with a KNOWLEDGE of the truth and divinity of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. And it is through this KNOWLEDGE that we have power over the Devil. BECAUSE, Devil is opposite of God, yes? Well what's the opposite of being all knowledgeable? Not. Right? Right. SO, if we don't study the scriptures and gain knowledge, the Devil has MORE power against us because we don't KNOW about Jesus Christ. We don't KNOW about the atonement. We don't have any knowledge, (this knowledge consisting of actually important things, not knowledge of how many times certain actors have been to rehab). And if we don't have this special knowledge, that is the definition of the chains of Hell because we are BOUND by what we do not know, nor comprehend and understand.

THEREFORE, the moral of the story is we HAVE to KEEP learning and studying and gaining more knowledge about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, the Atonement, and all these things, otherwise we will fall into the hands of Satan by the simple fact that we have no POWER (knowledge) to use against him.

Does this all make sense? Cuz it makes SO much more sense when I'm telling it in person, I'm not sure about this whole type-it-out nonsense....

ANYHOO, so that was pretty cool.

SECONDLY, I promised y'all the story about the basher guy........well......I'm gonna have to break it cuz quite frankly the story is too long and I've already written it down a zillion times in different journals, so I'm just gonna sum up what it was I learned....so this actually happened twice, with 2 different guests, 1 being a basher and then 1 who just came in like 3 days ago who was a yoga/buddha/guru/free spirit-kinda guy. And BOTH had the same problem. They were asking the wrong questions.

Basher guy - He said, "What is the Bible missing?" When he should have asked (actually, several other questions but one of them being..) "what can the Book of Mormon add to my life?" Or something like that, and I ended up sharing with him 1 Nephi 4:6 and I just bore witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I didn't know what to say to him except what the spirit was prompting me to say and that was that the Book is true. And it all intense and the spirit of God was like a fire was burning and it was just like BAM! But then again, I feel like my testimony was for his wife who is less active..........like I said....long story.....anyhoo

Guru guy - He said, "I just don't understand why there's only 1 religion that we have to join? Why do we have to be either Catholic, or Baptist or Buddhist or Mormon? I said, "Well, remember me telling you about Joseph Smith? Well, lots of people think when he went to pray and had the '1st vision' he was trying to figure out which church to join. But that's no it at all, he was concerned about the salvation of his soul. He wanted to live with his family is the presence of God, forever. So maybe you're asking the wrong question. the question isn't, 'which church should I join?' the question is, 'How do I obtain the salvation of my soul.' And God will bless you as you search for that answer, by leading you to the place with the correct/exact doctrine that will teach/show you how."

Fact: I love being at the Visitors' Center, it's amazing!
