That's right folks! My parents have hit the big 2-5! (in 4 hrs or so, their time) Not that I could imagine them NOT being together for this long, however, putting up with ME for most of it is another miracle I have yet to figure out. Something about "loving me" or something like that, I'm not sure :P
Speaking of love, did y'all know it's Valentine's day in 2 days?.................TWO DAYS?!?!?! Why am I weirded out by this? Not because I will not be celebrating it, (cuz if y'all know me at all you know I can't stand the day, not for it's meaning but because of the obsession with gaudy pink, flowers and chocolate, all of which I hate) anyhoo, I'm weird out because that means it really is February and in 2 weeks I'll have been out on my mission for 7 months............7. Which means that with the subtraction of 1 week of everyone's mission (cuz of the shortened MTC time they took a week away from our missions..lame) I have 10 months and 1 week left on my mission............10! Weird............
Anyhoo, so the latest and great news from Transfers
Fact: I'm back in La'ie with a fabulous Japanese companion from Yamaguchi, Japan, and while she is teaching me how to say Japanese phrases like, "the tram will be here in 5 mins" and "That is a temple, it's for marriages" I'm teaching her English phrases like, "my companion is delirious" :D It's funny, because she still has pronunciation issues with her "L's" and "R's" :P
Fact: The Mexicans are following me........we officially ate a married students' house and they're from Mexico, and I've discovered 2 small facts 1.) I love Orchata 2.) I still hate Mexican candy. Either it tastes gross or it tastes good but requires too much effort getting it open, unwrapping it, or turning it, or whatever. I don't like to work for my candy...........
Fact: I still hate rain.........and I forgot how much it rains in La'ie and how LITTLE it rained in Kihei
Fact: I forgot to wish my dad a happy birthday last week on February 4th..........HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fact: I wrote 10 letters today.......my hand hurts
Fact: I took a 4 1/2 hour nap...........it was much needed seeing as I was getting so slap-happy not even the American sisters could explain my sleep deprivation with any other word than deliriousness.......
Fact: I forgot how strong the spirit is at the VC. Seriously, it's so cool to feel it here, and just have the setting be automatically set for teaching rather than having to CREATE the setting out full-pros............I love it. It's amazing.
Fact: Sis. Kunishi and I white-washed into 2 YSA wards and 1 Married Student ward.....it's gonna be tough.....why? Because there is not a SINGLE non-member or Less Active in my married student ward and between my 2 YSA wards there's 4 non-members........3 of which I can't seem to catch cuz they're guys and we can't go in the Guys' Hale's....SO ANNOYING. BUT we're having our district leader go tract the hales so that should help :)
Ok, I think that's all my facts.................
SO, awesome experience of the week: So technically we didn't TOTALLY white-wash cuz I used to be in the YSA 6th ward and sis. Christensen and I set up for this girl Ariel to be taught, and when we came back they said sis. Tsai was gonna take over teaching her because she's Taiwanese just like her. BUT we went tracting in the Hale and ran into her AND it turns out she hadn't even met Sis. Tsai yet cuz they hadn't been able to catch her. And she was talking to us and she told us she was FASTING to know if the church was true because she wants to be baptized.................BAM!!!!!! Holy cow people! And she was all, "yeah, it's really hard, plus I just don't know what the Holy Ghost feels like and I want to KNOW, just like my friends, before I'm baptized" o.O Holy poop......this girl is amazing. So after talking with her for a while she's gonna continue praying and reading her scriptures but honestly, what WE'RE praying for is that she recognizes that Heavenly Father's already answered her prayers! She already feels the spirit! But she's surrounded by it all the time she hasn't noticed it! Thus, is the result of being at a church school. But anyhoo, we're totally stoked for her and hopefully we'll be able to see her baptized on March 2nd! :D
Anyhoo, I love you all and I hope everything's going great for you! LOVE YOU!
love,
Sis. Bradley
