HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup, my little missionary is 20 years old now and that means I'm next to turn 22! WEIRD!!!!! However, I'm slightly excited about this BECAUSE, 1.) 2 is my favorite number and 2.) There's 2 2's in the number 22! :D :D :D
Anyhoo........
More countdowns, this transfer only has 3 more weeks left in it! That's so crazy! I love my companion and my padmates so much! I don't want to switch it up quite yet!!!! :( Another countdown! Ariel (a girl me and sis. Christensen started teaching who was then taught by sis. Chen, and is now taught by me and sis. Kunishi again is getting baptized!!!! Her date's set for March 2nd! (that's a 2....in case y'all didn't notice) We're so STOKED!!!! And she's so excited too!!! It seriously is happening because of the wonderful analogy our sister trainer, Sis Millet gave. She compared getting baptized to a stop light. Like you're learning and being taught and you love it, it's green, it's great, you're reading, you're praying, then you're asked to be baptized, now it's yellow...what do you do? Well......if you're like me, you GUN IT!!!! And zip right through! If you're not feeling like it's gonna turn red, GO THROUGH IT!!! Have faith! GET BAPTIZED! And Ariel being so awesome turns out to be just like Sis Millet and so she gunned it and now she's getting baptized! It's so awesome!
ALSO! Valentines day was super fun! Why? Because for some reason people feel really bad for sisters on valentines day cuz they think we don't have "real" valentines so we must be sad. SO, they decide to give us a TON of stuff to try and make us un-sad! Which means, I got CHOKE candy and cookies and cards and cute little Valentines from a ton of people I don't know! This only added to my happiness because, let's face it, I don't really care about Valentine's day so I'm happy regardless! WOOHOOO!! AND, EVERYONE on campus was wishing us a Happy Valentine's day and telling us they loved us! Saaaweeeet! Bomb day if I do say so myself! hahahahahahaha
ANYHOO, also, can I just say I've been immensely humbled since being with my companion. She is the sweetest, kindest, hardest working missionary I've ever met! She's working so hard to learn English and some people are like, "wow, you must have a lot of patience to be companions with an international" But it's not true at all, honestly, SHE has to exercise the most patience with ME, because I'll be sitting blabbering on and on about nonsense and sometimes totally forget to go slow and help her understand. Also, she has such a strong testimony and wants to share it SOOO bad, but she doesn't know how to testify sometimes cuz she doesn't know the right words. That is seriously the most frustrating and faith-trying experience ever. To WANT to bear your testimony but not be able to because you can't speak the language. And sometimes people get frustrated with her cuz they can't understand her English because they don't take the time to listen and so they just look at me to answer their question, but I'm just like, "uh, she answered your question, if you would just pay attention you'd understand what she said." I seriously admire her so much! AND, what's even more awesome is I'm learning Japanese! Can I carry on a conversation? No. But can I say, "I'm hungry!" YES I CAN!!! hahahahahahaha I'm working on it :)
OH! AND!!!! HUGE NEWS!!!!!! They're changing everything in the Visitor's Center and how it's run! So, it used to be that only the online sisters could chat and do stuff like that. And we would work really hard to get self-referrals and then we'd send it to the mission office in whatever area they were in and hope and pray missionaries would actually go by ASAP and be nice to them and help them feel the spirit like we did. WELL, Salt lake found a HUGE disconnect between the time people visited the VC and people being contact and then baptized cuz it turns out that it takes up to a MONTH or more sometimes for missionaries to finally get the information and go by. And so by then people lose interest and forget their feeling here and don't receive the missionaries. BUT!!! NOW!!!!! We don't count self-referrals anymore, we don't re-invite people anymore. Instead, everything is being done according to BAPTISMS. And out goal for March is TEN BAPTISMS for the Visitors' Center. So what we do is now, when we give tours with non-members, they're "other" lessons, when it's a non-member and a member it's a "with-member" lesson, when a member comes in a gives us a referral it's a "referral" just like the regular full-field key indicators! And when we call that person and contact them it's the same. When we schedule another appointment to chat with that person, call them, e-mail them, whatever, and we teach them a principle and then invite them to do something, they count as lessons! And we now are responsible for STAYING in contact with them up until the day we die! So even when they are meeting with the missionaries, we need to be e-mailing, calling and checking up, chatting, SOMETHING. When they get baptized they're counted as baptisms for the Visitors' Center and they're OUR baptisms. And the online sisters have even had experiences when the investigators have sent them pictures of their baptism! It's so awesome! I'm so excited for this! And it all starts March 1st so that's the other countdown we're doing! It's insane! The Lord is DEFINITELY hastening his work, and he's even doing it with the Visitors' Centers! Anyhoo I love you all and I hope everything's going well with everyone! Work hard! Pray always!
Love,
Sis. Bradley
