Your ways vs My ways

This week has definitely been a whirlwind of adventures and we suddenly became really busy and were able to finally have our investigator come to church and bring her friend from Florida! But something tells me it will be a long process waiting on the spirit to slowly but surely give her that craving to learn more and to actually read the Book of Mormon in effort to find out if she should be baptized. But I know once she lets the spirit work on her, the craving will come instantly and she'll want to be baptized ASAP!

Recently I've been able to witness the way Heavenly Father answers prayers in comparison to what we WANT or what we ENVISION, verses what HE wants and what is reality.

For example, a couple of weeks ago I might have mentioned that we were praying and fasting for a family of 5 to move into the ward from Utah so we could teach them and baptize them by the end of August.

Guess what....a family of 5 moved in the ward....no joke, and they're from Utah.....BUT! They're all members.......BUT, the the parents have been called to be missionaries, teaching an entrepreneur class on campus, and they're kids brought a kid to church and apparently he's been to church before!

SO, we may not get 5 baptisms by the end of the month. BUT we DID get a family of 5 AND they're helping us teach people and are VERY missionary minded and I think with their help we could have 1 or more baptisms by the end of September. Again, it's all up to the Lord's timing, but it was interesting to see what His WAY was.......namely, the family of 5 being very missionary-minded members :)

Also, we've been continually planning and preparing for people to come into the Visitors' Center and they've come! It's SO cool to see how the Lord takes our prayers and uses them for His will.....

for example, we may say, a family of BIG people, with a dad wearing overalls and we teach them about the Book of Mormon using the Book of Mormon display. But what we'll get, is a really BIG family, with lots of kids, with the dad wearing suspenders, and we'll teach them all about the TEMPLE because that's what they show interest in, but we do GIVE them a Book of Mormon before they leave.

You know what I mean? So it's very interesting to see how Heavenly Father answers prayers. In the time and way that He knows is best. I'm interested to see how He will answer my prayers for the rest of my life. It definitely makes you realize WHY they say to be very specific in your prayers and to really think about exactly what you need and HOW you need to ask for it!

But what we all need to remember, is that HIS way is BETTER than OUR ways, even though we CAN'T see it, and we CAN'T understand it. We CAN accept it, and grow with it :)
