I'm going to Maui.........full proselyting.........tomorrow morning...........
Yeah. Weird. Apparently training at 3 transfers isn't a big deal, because it's just what might be necessary when we have a lot coming (like this time) however, for a 3rd transfer greenie to be going to Maui..........yeah.............not so common. Some VC sisters won't even go off Oahu....soooo yeah....kinda a big deal..........and in case you didn't notice I'm still in shock and not sure what to do with myself. I'm actually kinda sad because I didn't think I was leaving so I've been telling everyone they could see me at the VC anytime, especially to my investigators. But now they won't......and I'm just...nervous about leaving my area. We've worked SO hard. We know every single Less Active and nonmember in the ward boundaries. And we have 5 investigators SOOOOO close to baptism but now I won't be there to see them get baptized "/ lame. BUT I just hope these new sisters can finally nudge them enough that they'll stick to a date, cuz so far with our investigators their dates are void and are now having to set new ones. But as long as they get dunked and then keep going to church I totally don't care! I'm so proud of all the progress they've made! Especially Juan!
So in OTHER news! Guess what me and Sister Christensen have discovered! I attract really passionate, opinionated, tall, buff, wahoos to the Visitors' Center. Most of them happening to be very well versed in the bible and up for bashing......awesome.....because I had 2 again this week, that makes a total of 8 just in this transfer. And seriously they all look the same, tall, blonde, buff, (military looking, in some cases, they ARE in the military) and then they're all VERY passionate about whatever it is they believe. One guy this week was "just walking and saw this place and thought it was an ancient Hawaiian temple" so he came in and decided to tell us that you don't need works to get to heaven, because no matter what we're never gonna be perfect so Jesus died and "ripped the veil" so EVERYONE can go to heaven regardless of their sins because after they die, they're gonna leave their sinful body behind and be free perfect spirits in Heaven."
*gag. FACT: Let it be known to ALL that yes, we DO need to be good, YES, we DO need to keep the commandments and try EVERY day to be more and MORE like Christ otherwise we will NOT enter the kingdom of God. SO even if we ARE baptized, if we plateau and stop progressing and stop serving others and stop learning and growing then we will NOT be able to live with our families with Heavenly Father. We HAVE to KEEP working and learning how to be more like Him. Baptism, mission, temple marriage and kids does not guarantee a spot in the celestial kingdom, nor does it guarantee a perfect life. It just promises us blessings (again, blessings, not perfect life) and that as long as we keep up the end of the bargain, (namely learning and growing and keeping the commandments) THEN we will be able to live with our families in the celestial kingdom. But even then, EVERY family member has to do the same, they have to work and progress and constantly increase their faith with diligently SEARCHING the scriptures, not just reading them, MAGNIFYING their calling, not just doing the minimum. SO, I would like to invite all y'all to NOT plateau, NOT just do the minimum, but to do whatever it takes to increase your faith and be more like Him. To WORK and grow and gain all of these experiences that will not only help you now, but others in the future.
Ok, now that I'm done with that rant......SO basically last week we had this amazing tram tour and there was this one guy in particular who I showed the La'ie presentation (a 5 min video about the church's involvement in establishing the community, BYUH and the PCC) and I talked to him about the leadership the divine revelation that they had to move the members here and everything and he just looks at me and goes. "I can see God through you."
Holy snaps I honestly didn't think I was doing much. But holy cow is the spirit awesome! When people feel it they just feel it! And then he wrote on his guest card. "I experienced God tonight." How amazing is that? Seriously, the spirit it amazing and I LOVE it when people are so in tune with it! Well I guess I better let y'all go, but I hope everyone is doing awesome! Stay awesome! And my next P-day will be Monday so I'll tell you all about Maui then! Work hard! Pray always!
