HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY Y'ALL!!!! Well it's officially July
4th, which means exactly 3 weeks until I begin my mission for the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on the July 25th! I'm so excited! I can't
wait to start serving the Lord and helping people come unto Christ! I feel like
I've been slowly preparing for this my whole life and so now that it's finally
happening I think I'm in denial! So to get a little head start on what's going
to be the most AMAZING missionary blog you've EVER read, I've decided to tell
y'all about the scripture that's meant a lot to me these past couple of weeks.
It's 1 Nephi 3:7 which reads:
And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shale prepare a way for them to accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."
How awesome is this verse?!?! "…the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, sace he shall prepare a way for them to accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." What an amazing promise! There's nothing that the Lord will ask us to do that He knows we can't handle. And ANYTHING He asks us to do, we CAN do, because he makes sure that it's possible! So for instance, we've been given certain commandments like paying our tithing (giving 10% of our earnings to the church), and we've been promised that because Heavenly Father is the one that has asked us to do it, we CAN do it! It may not be easy, and it may be a huge sacrifice, but we CAN do it! He's promised us that He's made it possible for us to do so! I have such a strong testimony of this gospel and I know that my Redeemer lives! I know that through Jesus Christ and obeying His commandments we can live with our Heavenly Father again! I love y'all and I hope y'all have an AMAZING 4th!

PS: I'm warning y'all now. There will be TONS of exclamation marks throughout my posts because…well…that's how I talk…with exclamation ;) so I swear I'm not yelling, I'm just super excited and happy!!! ^_^ Oh and here's a pic of me and my family (minus Sarah who was at BYU) after me and William went through the temple together! It's gonna be so sweet to be missionaries at the same time as my brother!
